Gideon to become Deputy president come 2017, if NASA wins

Kenya African National Union (KANU) leader may just have received a political lifeline to resurrect his dwindling political star.
The team crafting the National Super Alliance has proposed two Deputy Presidents in a new government, one of them being Kanu leader Gideon Moi.
The team proposes a greatly expanded executive of five which will require constitutional amendment.
If National Super Alliance coalition (NASA), wins 2017 elections, it would create First and Second Deputy Presidents, a Prime Minister and two Deputy Prime Ministers to represent all regions in a power-sharing deal.
Gideon Moi, Aide Joseph Kimkum who spoke to the Star, said although the proposal has not been formally made, the Baringo senator was open to ideas.
Kimkum said.
By elevating Moi to the DP’s position he will enjoy similar status to Deputy President William Ruto.
Thus, NASA hopes to get votes in Baringo, Bomet and other parts of South Rift.
The second DP post is proposed to represent the Eastern region and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka is being considered for the post.
Despite all opposition leaders wishing to be President, it is understood NASA’s candidate will be either Cord or ODM leader, Raila Odinga or ANC chief Musalia Mudavadi.
The one who doesn’t get the presidential ticket would get the PM’s post.
NASA will however have to convince Kenyans first if at all their plan is ever to see the light of the day, since a Constitutional amendment to expand the executive requires a Bill as stated in Articles 256 and 257 or through a popular initiative signed by at least one million registered voters.
