Impeached South Korean president who bought 360 erectile dysfunction Viagra during her visit to Nairobi expresses regret

No one imagined South Korean president Park Geun-Hye and her delegation could be carrying Viagra when they landed in Nairobi on May 31st 2016 for a 3 day state visit to Kenya.

Ms Park’s office confirmed the shocking revelations on November 23rd 2016 after it was brought forth by an opposition lawmaker.

The president office explained that they purchased about 360 Viagra pills to potentially treat altitude sickness for presidential aides and employees on Park’s May trips to Ethiopia, Uganda and Kenya, whose capitals are 1 to 2km (0.6 to 1.2 miles) above sea level.

N/B: South Korean doctors sometimes prescribe Viagra-style drugs to climbers because they are believed to be effective in preventing altitude sickness.

Jung Youn-kuk, spokesman of the presidential Blue House, revealed that none of the Viagra pills were used.

Anyway, President Park was recently ousted by South Korean Constitutional Court; her impeachment was however not triggered by the Viagra scandal.

Raila Odinga and Moses Wetang’ula hosted at State House by President Uhuru Kenyatta, who invited the Opposition leaders for a luncheon in honour of the South Korean leader.

Park’s presidency was already in a limbo way before her aides bought Viagra and flew to Nairobi; she was accused of abusing her presidential powers; her secret confidante Choi Soon Sil used her ties with Park to force local firms to “donate” billions of shillings to non-profit foundations – that’s what triggered her impeachment.

Park expressed regret on Monday February 27th 2017 over the scandal that triggered her impeachment as the Constitutional Court wrapped up hearings on her fate.
