Journalists Across The Media Divide Team Up To Mock Njoki Chege After She Attacked The Star’s Oliver Mathenge

Nation columnist Njoki Chege has been making headlines since last weekend after she penned a teary piece in her column bashing and mocking the Star newspaper’s Oliver Mathenge over what she termed as mannerless idiocy of displaying his status on the social media.

Njoki did not directly mention Oliver’s name but the jibe was directed to him considering that Oliver is a proud husband to his newly married wife and has flaunting her on the social media recently.

It seems Njoki’s article rubbed the media fraternity shoulders the wrong way as her fellow journalists have come out blazing with anger and fury.

It all started with former Star and current Standard writer Nzau ya Musau posting a picture of himself with his wife in the car headed for work.

Nzau captioned the photo saying:

Just me n my beautiful wifi swimming our way to work in our “duppy conqueror” jalopy this morning. This one is a special dedication to njoki chege, akule hii kwanza. Someone help me craft suitable hashtags.

And he went ahead to tag several other writers from different publications, among them Oliver Mathenge himself and the Star’s Gracey Kerongo.

It is here that the fire was ignited and the journalists went on to roast Njoki Chege with a number of hashtags all aimed at telling her off.

Here is a sample of the comments they gave:

Oliver Generali Mathenge Njeri Wamarite Mathenge You see.. We lead, others follow.. hehehe.. Nzau Ya Musau Hapo sawa kabisa

Nzau Ya Musau Oliver Generali Mathenge u shud now donate a hashtag to me… we must put Njoki where she belongs, dustbin. Sasa anataka tupigwe picha na wasichana wa wenyewe ama?

Then the Star’s Gracey Kerongo came up with a battalion of hashtags:

Then the Nairobian’s Cate Mukei made her statement with these hashtags:
