Joy Doreen Biira, Nancy Kacungira, G Money and Other Foreigners Who Moved To Kenya and Became Celebrities (Photos)

Some stars like Lupita Nyong’o, Owuor Arunga and Edi Gathegi found success after they moved out of Kenya.

But there are those celebrities, who have furthered their careers and achieved their dreams after moving to Kenya.

Today we look at some of them:

To start us off is G Money officially known as Conrad Gray

G money was born in Harlesden, London and is currently one of Kenya’s best DJ’s and radio presenters. He hosts the popular Breakfast show on Homeboyz Radio

2. Peng Chen

He moved to Kenya from San Francisco, California to help start up a waste management company before joining Easy Taxi Kenya as the MD. After leaving Easy Taxi, Peng started a bar with his fiancé; Michelle Morgan called ‘The Alchemist’ which is one of the most popular bars in Nairobi.

3. Gilad Milo

Gilad was a former Israeli deputy ambassador to Kenya who later chased his passion for music after moving to Kenya. He is among the lucky few who have a hit after the first try with his debut single ‘Unajua’ featuring Wendy Kimani topping charts in 2015.

The Israeli man who has an impressive mastery of the Swahili language won us over with his other hits like ‘Sema Milele’ and ‘Rangi Ya Bahari .

4. Joy Doreen Biira

Joy Doreen Biira was born about 29 years ago in Kasese, Uganda and holds a degree in BSc. Information technology from the well-known Makerere University. She worked in Uganda for a while before moving to KTN as an anchor/reporter and this is where she made a name for herself.

5. Nancy Kacungira

 

This screen bombshell also came from Uganda and just like Joy; she has worked at KTN as a news anchor.

The Komla Dumor Award winner attended Makerere University in Kampala and later Leeds University in UK for a Masters course in communication.

Nancy has been in the media industry for close to two decades and has worked in media houses in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

6. Susan Wong

7. Chiki Onwekwe

The beautiful Nigerian fitness queen worked with Slim Possible for its sixth season before landing a morning show at the same station.
