She just had to say it on International Women’s Day! Julie Gichuru’s startling confession about her childhood

While everyone was celebrating the women they admire on International Women’s Day which was on March 8th, Julie Gichuru shared something about her childhood.

The former Citizen TV anchor revealed that she used to wish she could have been born of different sex while she was growing up.

Julie’s revelation comes as a shock to many considering what she has achieved as woman; she is one of the most accomplished journalists in Africa.

Julie has interviewed countless African leaders and successful businessman and women on her show African Leadership Dialogue.

In her post on social media, Julie admitted that she now appreciates her womanhood more than ever. Her wish to be a boy was only influenced by misconceived notion that women couldn’t achieve as much as men.

“I grew up wishing I was a boy. Now, as a woman, there is little I appreciate more than my womanhood. Dear sisters, mothers & daughters, Happy International Women’s Day! May you live up to the wonder of your womanhood ,” Julie Gichuru wrote.
