A list of locations where there will be no electricity on Thursday
Kenya Power has issued a notice regarding a scheduled power blackout in specific parts of the country on Thursday, March 7, 2024. The utility firm stated in a notice on its website that the power interruption is necessary for maintenance and upgrades to power lines in the network. The affected regions and blackout durations are as follows:
Elgeyo Marakwet: Parts of Elgeyo Marakwet County will experience a blackout for two hours from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Affected areas include Murkutwo, Chesongoch, Kapkobil, Kabetwa, Tot, Tot Mango Factory, Soko Bora, Barberi, Chebilil, Sangach, Samballat, Liter & adjacent customers.
Nandi: Parts of Nandi County will have power interruptions from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Affected areas include Kapchebisir, Tulon, Kapkagaron, Kipchuno, Tulon Sec, Lolmengengai, Tulon Quarry, Lutieti & adjacent customers.
Nyeri: Parts of Nyeri County will experience a power outage from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Affected areas include Gikondi, Muthuthini, Kaharo & adjacent customers.
Kiambu: Parts of Kiambu County will be in a blackout from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Affected areas include Kisii Est, Leather Industries, Landless, Thika Barracks, Macheo, Gatuanyaga, Salama, Pakjel & adjacent customers. Other affected areas are Farmers Choice Factory, Palak Steel Mills, Carbacid Fact, Kijabe Boys, Kijabe Hosp, Uplands Police Stn, Nyambare, Githironi, Nyamweru, Murengeti, Mutosi, Kinyogori, Gititha, Kimeende, Lari, Magina, Kinale, Soko Mjinga, Kamae, Mathore, Kijabe, Escarpment, Kabunge, Kijabe & adjacent customers.
Kirinyaga: Parts of Kirinyaga County will experience a blackout from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Affected areas include Thiba Pri & Sec, Thiba Maendeleo, Thiba Soweto, Thiba North, Thiba South, Thiba H/Center, Thiba Chief’s Camp, Karima, Mbui Njeru, Rurumi Block & adjacent customers.
