Adelle Onyango Slams Shaffie Weru And Dj Joe For Victim Shaming Eunice (Screenshot)

Renowned Kenyan disc jockey, Dj Mfalme and radio presenter Shaffie found themselves at loggerheads with a section of Kenyans on twitter for shaming a girl who was thrown from the 12th floor by a man she met on Facebook after denying him sex.

The girl, whose name is Eunice, has made headlines in the past few days. She became crippled by the tragic incident. Dj Joe Mfalme, Shaffie and Neville made this incident their topic of discussion; little did they know this was going to screw them. They termed Kenyan ladies as being ‘too available’ and lose for strangers.

Adelle Onyango’s Statement

Media personality and podcaster Adelle Onyango is one of those who didn’t take the issue lightly. She prevaricated her statement and indirectly addressed three.

She wrote on her Insta story,

”Stop giving women advise on how to stay safe/alive. On how to accommodate abusers. You’re doing that only to avoid introspection and see where you may have crossed a line or to avoid calling out ppl in your social circles… Stop feigning ignorance on matters consent. You understand that shit…

Honestly it’s exhausting to keep having this conversation. How do people not see how creating an environment that NORMALIZES sexual violence only results in MORE sexual violence…

Introspect. Unlearn. Do better and for fuck’s sake will anyone apologize to Eunice? No? Sigh!”

Shaffie Weru and Dj Joe have however apologized over the issue. Rape and violence on women has been on the rise. And there’s nothing that can justify the two. Such conversations should be shunned and have serious ramifications.
