Akothee Reflects On Past Struggles & Present Success As She Celebrates Birthday

Kenyan musician Akothee, known by her real name Esther Akoth, marked her birthday with a message reflecting on both the struggles and triumphs in her life.

The mom of five spoke openly about the challenges she’s faced, including raising children in difficult circumstances, failed relationships, and navigating business ventures. Yet, Akothee emphasized her unwavering determination: “Failing a thousand times taught me a thousand ways that didn’t work… I never gave up.”

Akothee highlighted a recent achievement, earning her university degree at 42 after years of pursuing her studies. She also pointed out her success as the director of a school.

“I managed to achieve my degree at 42 years old and became a director of a school with 70 pupils and 18 teachers at 42 I don’t celebrate my birthdays, I count my achievements in the years I have lived 💪You don’t need to remind me of my failures. I am busy counting my achievements, don’t tell me who I am, you don’t know me. I know myself very well,” she added.
