Anita Nderu discusses her struggles as a first-time mother

Digital content creator and media personality Anita Nderu Raftery recently disclosed that she shares a toothbrush with her nearly 2-year-old toddler.

In her Instagram stories, the former Teen Republic host elaborated on her daughter Kaya’s current phase of learning basic hygiene. According to Anita, Kaya is willing to brush her teeth after meals, but there’s a catch—she insists on using her mommy’s toothbrush, deeming her own not cool enough.

Anita expressed her first-time mom struggles, seeking advice from others who might have experienced this phase and asking for suggestions on how to transition Kaya to using her own kiddie brush.

She shared a photo of her toothbrush, which was visibly dirtied on the handle from Kaya’s smudgy fingers, lamenting the invasion of her privacy by her daughter.

“Guys, so Kaya is at that age where we have started teaching her how to brush her teeth. The only problem is she will only use my toothbrush, like she completely refuses to use hers and only wants mommy’s. I’ve tried to make her stop, but that is the only way that she will brush her teeth, like she just wants to use my toothbrush, and I don’t know what to do,” Anita shared.

She further posted a photo of her soiled white toothbrush with food stains, emphasizing her current motherhood struggle.

“Look at this brush, God knows what that is and where her little hands have been. But I still let her use it because that’s all she’ll do. So I let her use it then just clean it using toothpaste,” Anita Nderu shared.

This revelation comes shortly after Diana Marua and Kelvin ‘Bahati’ Kioko posted a video showcasing them sharing a toothbrush. In the video, Diana playfully grabbed Bahati’s toothbrush while he was brushing his teeth, and they continued to share the same brush, adding an element of humor and playfulness to their routine.
