British superstar Ellie Goulding appointed UN goodwill ambassador during her stay in Kenya

Ellie Goulding arrived in Kenya barely a week after Rita Ora jetted into the country. The award winning singer was named UN Environment Global Goodwill Ambassador during her stay in Kenya.

Ellie Goulding boasts of several hit songs including ‘Burn’, ‘Love You Like You Do’, ‘I Need Your Love’ etc. The British singer jetted into the country to for the third UN Environment Assembly.

Goulding’s arrival in Kenya comes barely a week after fellow Brit singer Rita Ora celebrated her 27th birthday in Laikipia.

Am delighted to be UN ambassador

The ‘Burn’ hit maker was named UN ambassador just weeks after collecting a Global Leadership Award from the UN. Ellie Goulding broke news about her new UN job on twitter.

“I’m delighted to announce that I have become a UN Environment Global Goodwill Ambassador. Thank you to @unep head @eriksolheim for making it official @giraffe_manor. All witnessed by Ed the giraffe (he’s pretty special. Only 800 of his species left). ­­­­­­Feel very honoured,” Ellie Goulding tweeted.

The singer’s now joins the ongoing battle to clean up the environment, tackle climate change and protect endangered species.

The 30-year-old pop took time off her busy schedule to travel to Maasai Mara. She took to Instagram to share her photos enjoying her trip to the wild.
