The reason for Michael Oyier’s passing disclosed

The cause of death of the late TV presenter Michael Oyier has been disclosed.

Michael, once a renowned TV presenter before pursuing personal projects, passed away while undergoing treatment at Nairobi Hospital on April 21, 2024.

Paul Oyier, Michael’s brother, revealed during the memorial that the beloved TV host had suffered a stroke.

Speaking at his brother’s memorial, Paul recounted, “Michael called me and was speaking incoherently. I couldn’t make out what he was saying. So, I hurried to his room, sensing something was amiss. There, I found signs of a stroke. He fought until the end, struggling to convey his wishes, but his speech was impaired as one side of his body had been paralyzed. He battled bravely, and we did our utmost to assist him.”

Michael Odhiambo Oyier was laid to rest in a private ceremony on Friday, May 3.

A requiem mass was held on May 1 at the All Saints Cathedral.

Mourners assembled in Homabay, where they offered their final prayers and had the opportunity to pay their respects to his body before the immediate family laid him to rest.
