For “robbing mini-supermarket in Kisii town,” a GSU officer was summoned immediately

A General Service Unit (GSU) officer, Constable Edgar Opollo, has been exposed for terrorizing locals in Kisii County. The details emerged after he was subjected to mob justice for allegedly stealing a mobile phone from a student. The officer, armed with an AK47 rifle, was saved by regular police officers during the assault.

Police officers intervened and discovered that Opollo had robbed a smartphone from a Kisii University student. Further investigation revealed that he was the same individual who led robbers in a heist at a mini supermarket in Corner Mbaya, Kisii County, where they stole Sh40,000. CCTV footage from the supermarket incident showed three robbers, with Opollo dressed in police fatigue and armed with an AK47.

Following his arrest, an identification parade was conducted at Kisii Central Police Station, and the supermarket owner successfully identified Opollo as one of the robbers. The suspect is currently admitted to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital, under police guard, and will record a statement once discharged.
