CNN International correspondent Larry Madowo is thrilled to reunite with his former colleague Victoria Rubadiri as she embarks on a new journey at CNN.

Taking to social media, Madowo warmly welcomed Rubadiri, his former NTV colleague, to CNN, expressing his excitement for her new role. “Congrats and welcome to CNN, partner! 🥳,” Madowo wrote.

CNN officially welcomed Rubadiri to their team on Tuesday, announcing her new role at the international media house. Rubadiri expressed her excitement for the opportunity to work at CNN and bring her experience and passion to its global audience.

“I’m extremely excited for the opportunity to work at CNN and to bring my experience and passion to its global audience. Connecting Africa champions the people, projects, and companies revolutionizing African business, and I’m looking forward to working alongside Eleni and the team to get out on the ground and tell these stories,” Rubadiri said.

Rubadiri joins CNN International for a new role on its long-running multiplatform series Connecting Africa and as part of the network’s newsgathering operation in Nairobi. She brings with her extensive experience from her tenure at Citizen TV, where she was a senior anchor and reporter at the network’s Nairobi headquarters. Additionally, Rubadiri has a background as a radio presenter in both Kenya and the US, where she pursued a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism at Temple University in Philadelphia.

In 2020, Rubadiri was honored with the BBC World News Komla Dumor Award for her outstanding talent in storytelling African narratives.
