Head-on Crash Near Eldama Ravine Claims Four Lives, Injures Nine

Tragedy struck near Eldama Ravine, Kericho County, as a Nakuru-bound matatu and a 60-seater bus collided head-on at Hill Tea Area. The harrowing incident, occurring during the ongoing rainy season, left four people dead and nine injured.

The matatu, owned by Msamaria Shuttle Ltd and carrying 16 passengers, bore the brunt of the impact. The driver and three passengers perished instantly, their lives tragically cut short in the horrific collision. Their bodies were transferred to Eldama Ravine Sub-County Referral Hospital, where nine other passengers are receiving treatment for serious injuries.

News of the accident cast a shadow of grief over the community. Families mourned their loved ones lost, while anxious prayers accompanied the injured to their recovery.

In response, the National Police Service urged extreme caution on the roads, particularly during the treacherous rainy season. Hazardous conditions amplified by the weather necessitate heightened vigilance from all drivers and road users to prevent further tragedies.
