Farid Mohammed

Ruth says she had a confrontation with her boyfriend after she discovered he was HIV positive. She explains that Farid threatened to kill himself and her rather than to have her expose his HIV status to his family.

“Farid told me that he would rather kill me and himself than have his status exposed. l stabbed him severally using a kitchen knife, which fell on my chest from his hands after I overpowered him after putting my two thumbs in his eyes to save my life. Your honor, it pained me to know that the person who l loved and trusted so much was to ruin my life by infecting me with HIV and Aids,” said Ruth Kamande.

Scared and shocked

Ruth explains that she stabbed her boyfriend severally because she was in a state of fear, panic and shock to save her life after Farid threatened to kill her.

Police were quickly called to Ruth’s house after neighbors heard the commotion. She was taken to Metropolitan Hospital and later Kenyatta Hospital where she was given drugs to prevent her from contracting HIV. She had cuts from the fight with her boyfriend.
