In response to those who criticize him for only having one wife, Stephen Letoo

Journalist Stephen Letoo has responded to criticism from some men in Kenya regarding his decision to marry only one wife.

Letoo exchanged vows with his longtime partner, Irene Renoi, in a splendid ceremony held at Ole Ntimama Stadium in Narok County on April 20. The event drew several prominent figures, including politicians and journalists.

Among the attendees were Citizen TV journalists Linus Kaikai, Swaleh Mdoe Ben Kirui, Jacque Maribe, and Chemutai Goin, as well as politicians David Ole Sankok and Kisii Governor Simba Arati.

Many social media users, predominantly men, took issue with Letoo, claiming that he was offering advice on polygamy while failing to practice it himself.

In response to the criticism, Letoo, known as the chairman of the Men’s Conference, rebuked those men, questioning their absence at his wedding and threatening to suspend them.

“All those making noise on social media will be suspended immediately. You cannot attack the chairman and fail to attend an event held at Ole Ntimama Stadium,” he asserted.

Letoo expressed surprise at the large turnout for his wedding, admitting that he had only anticipated 10,000 attendees.

“The turnout surprised me; I only reserved space for 10,000 people in the tents and was amazed to find the stadium full. I was both happy and embarrassed at the same time. If I had known there would be so many people sitting on the mounds, I would have hired cleaners to wash them because they were dusty,” he remarked.
