“It started way back in 2012” Amani reveals the turning point that made her decide to give her life to Jesus Christ

Cecilia Wairimu better known by her stage name Amani gave her life to Christ after five years of thinking through. The singer broke news about her salvation a week ago.

Amani opened up about what pushed her to salvation during an interview on Citizen. She reveals that secular world was taking a toll on her life.

Break didn’t help

The singer says she consistently felt exhausted about performing and thought a break would help. She however didn’t get the inner peace she wanted even after she took a break from music.

“For a long time I wasn’t happy. I could be in the backstage at a function waiting to perform, but I was like: ‘God get me out of this. I am exhausted and tired; I don’t think I can do this anymore.’ Initially, I thought it was the entertainment industry which was taking a toll on my life. I convinced myself that taking a short break from it would leave me feeling better. It never got better,” said Amani.

Amani further reveals she started feeling she needed a change in 2012. She finally felt relieved when she decided to seek salvation.

“I was like ‘I really do not want to do this’. I just wanted to renew my relationship with God. There is no major trigger experience in life, which led to my salvation. It was a process, and it started way back in 2012.”
