Jalang’o Pays Tribute To Late Friend & Colleague Kibwana Onguso

Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor, also known as Jalang’o, has expressed grief and paid tribute to his late friend and colleague Kibwana Onguso.

Through his Instagram account, the MP revealed the profound impact Onguso had on his acting career.

“Rest well Director! Kibwana Onguso! You gave me a chance to show my talent without borders! Kibwana Onguso! Director Papa Shirandula! Rest in Peace!” he wrote.

Jalang’o’s sentiments reflect the sentiment shared by many in the entertainment industry who were fortunate enough to work with Kibwana Onguso.

Onguso was a trailblazer in Kenyan television, having made significant contributions since the 1990s.

Onguso Kibwana’s illustrious career included iconic series such as ‘Tausi,’ ‘Tahamaki,’ ‘Kisulisuli,’ and ‘Nyundo Utosini.’

These shows not only entertained audiences but also played a pivotal role in shaping the television landscape in Kenya.

In the early 2000s, Kibwana Onguso transitioned to Royal Media Services’ Citizen TV, where he continued to make waves in the industry.

Onguso’s work on the popular show ‘Papa Shirandula’ is particularly noteworthy. The show, which aired from 2009 to 2016, was a critical and commercial success, and it helped to launch the careers of many Kenyan actors and actresses.
