Kagwe Mungai talks about character development that scarred him

Kagwe Mungai, the popular Kenyan comedian and musician, has opened up about his experiences with heartbreak and dating. In a recent interview on the “Best Kept Secrets” podcast, Mungai shared how a four-year relationship that ended in heartbreak left him feeling lost and insecure.

“I was head over heels,” Mungai said of the relationship. “It was the first time I had experienced love, being that kind of grandiose.”

However, the relationship eventually ended, and Mungai said that it took him five years to “get back to myself.”

“I wasn’t doing any self-work,” he said. “The only therapy I had was music.”

During this time, Mungai said that he went on a lot of dates, but that he was “kissing a lot of frogs.”

“I wasn’t ready for anything serious,” he said. “I was extremely scared of getting my heart broken, so I kept everything at arm’s length.”

Eventually, Mungai said that he started to heal from his heartbreak and began to open up to the possibility of dating again. However, he said that he has learned from his past experiences and is now more cautious about who he gets involved with.

“I’m not going to be a Mr. Nice Guy anymore,” he said. “I’m not going to put up with any BS.”

Mungai’s story is a reminder that heartbreak is a common experience, but it is important to remember that you are not alone. If you are going through a difficult time, there are people who can help you. Please reach out to a trusted friend, family member, or mental health professional for support.
