Kenya Power Announces 7 Counties To Be Affected By Blackout Today

On Thursday, February 15, 2024, Kenya Power sent out a warning alerting the populace about power outages in a few areas of the nation.

The energy company stated on its website that the power outage is required to enable network maintenance and upgrades to the power lines.

The utility firm noted that the Friday, February 15, 2024, power interruptions will affect Nairobi, Homa Bay, Embu, Meru, Mombasa, Kitui and Kiambu Counties.

There will be a blackout in Nairobi Gate Industrial Park in Nairobi County from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

There will be power outages in some areas of Nairobi County, including Rossylyn and Kitsuru, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

There will be a blackout in certain areas of Homa Bay County from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Ongalo, Oyuma, Osika, Nyakongo, Alego Kamser, Pala, Sombro, Nyagwete, Aros, Moi University, St. Vincent Jonyo, Koriko, Mainuga Beach, Doho Beach, Ngeta, Sanda, Kanyakutu, and nearby consumers are among the locations impacted.

From 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, there will be a blackout in some areas of Embu County.

In addition to Gikingiri and nearby consumers, the affected locations are Kwetu, Mikuuri Market, Itabua Secondary School, Njumbiri Village, Kambo Village and Market, Bishop Mbui, Nduva, and Kimangaru Village and Market.
