Nadia Mukami Speaks After Beating East Africa’s Big Wigs At AFRIMMAs 2023

Kenyan singer Nadia Mukami emerged victorious at the 2023 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMAs), beating out Bongo music sensation Zuchu and other heavyweights in the Best Female East Africa category.

Mukami was the only Kenyan artist to win an award at the gala, which was held in Dallas, Texas, US on Sunday, September 17, 2023. She accepted her new title “Queen of East Africa” with pride.

“The Biggest celebration: THE WEIGHT LOSS 🙏 I feel like God’s Favorite because I really struggled for months and I hated music videos and pictures in General! I thank God for his unconditional love and always giving me 3 things! Grace, Mercy & Favor. Queen of the East is my New Name Now🇰🇪 Thank you @afrimma,” Mukami wrote on social media.

Other notable winners at the AFRIMMAs 2023 include Diamond Platnumz (Best Male East Africa), AKA (Best Male Southern Africa – posthumous), and Fally Ipupa (Best Francophone and Lifetime Achievement Award).

Mukami’s victory is a significant achievement for Kenyan music and a testament to her talent and hard work. She is an inspiration to many young artists and her success is a reminder that anything is possible if you set your mind to it.
