Nigerian chef Hilda Baci outlasted by Irish chef Alan Fisher for Guinness World Record

Former Nigerian record holder Hilda Baci has been surpassed by Irish chef Alan Fisher as the Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking marathon.

Fisher cooked for an incredible 119 hours and 57 minutes, beating Baci’s record by over 24 hours. He also set a new record for the longest individual baking marathon, clocking in at 47 hours and 21 minutes.

Baci had held the record for the longest cooking marathon since April when she cooked for 100 hours. Her record was later adjusted to 93 hours and 11 minutes after she took a longer break than allowed.

Fisher’s achievement is particularly impressive given that he completed both cooking marathons back-to-back, with just over a day’s rest between attempts. He was only allowed one assistant at a time and could only use the toilet or nap during his breaks.

Baci’s record-breaking attempt had made her an international sensation, and she is still considered a culinary inspiration. However, Fisher’s new record is a remarkable feat of endurance and dedication.
