Paraded and shamed! Faces of smartly dressed thieves who steal purses, handbags, laptops, phones in hotels in Nairobi

Four men were paraded in Kilimani Police station after they were arrested in connection with theft of personal property belonging to customers attending conferences in Nairobi at KICC.

Nairobi governor Mike Sonko shared photos of the men whom he says are part of theft syndicate in the CBD. Sonko says the four always smartly dressed and normally pretend to be participants in conferences within the hotels.

“This is how they operate. During tea break or when you go for short call, they steal whatever is left on the table. At some point they even steal in major hospitals within the city pretending to be hospital staff. The stolen electronics are later taken to an electronic shop in Imenti House 1st floor called LUCID COMPUTOR ENGINEERS where around 14 stollen laptops were recovered,” said Sonko in part.

Bailed denied

They suspects were also captured by CCTV cameras going by their business stealing purses, handbags, laptops, phones and other electronics. The four were arraigned in Milimani court on Monday August 13th but were denied bail and remanded in custody.
