Police investigate Nyandarua murder suicide after man kills his wife

Police are currently probing a tragic incident involving murder and suicide in a village in Engineer, Nyandarua County.

This investigation comes after the discovery of the lifeless body of a 30-year-old woman on the roadside on Thursday afternoon.

Asumpta Wanjiru Murunga’s body was found with no apparent injuries, just one day after her estranged husband’s body was discovered in the same area, having taken his own life.

The deceased woman, Asumpta Wanjiru Murunga, is believed to have been murdered by her 32-year-old husband, Henry Muiruri Mwaura, before he committed suicide on January 16.

Local residents reported that the couple had been experiencing domestic issues, suspected to be the root cause of this tragic double incident.

In a separate case, authorities are looking into the death of a man whose body was spotted floating in the Indian Ocean in the Kijipwa area.

The lifeless body was found along the shores of the Indian Ocean at Vipingo Beach, according to the police.

Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers, with the assistance of the public, managed to recover the decomposed body.

The body has been transported to the Kilifi mortuary for identification and autopsy.

Police suspect foul play, suggesting that the man may have been murdered and dumped into the water or possibly drowned.

Authorities are urging individuals with missing friends or relatives to visit the mortuary to assist in the ongoing investigations.
