Police Seize Bhang Worth 14 Million In Kilifi

Kilifi police have made a significant drug seizure, apprehending 477 kilograms of bhang with an estimated street value of Ksh14 million. Two suspects, George Nitti and Raphael Mbithi, both 37 years old, were arrested in the operation.

The National Police Service (NPS) confirmed the arrests in a statement, stating that the DCI officers intercepted the drugs and suspects in the Swallows area of Kilifi South on December 6th, 2023.

“The motor vehicle used to transport the drugs, a Toyota Harrier with registration number KDK020B, was also impounded,” the NPS statement added.

The investigation is currently underway by the DCI. The NPS reaffirmed its commitment to combating criminal activity.

Nitti and Mbithi are currently in police custody awaiting arraignment. Their arrest and the large bhang seizure mark a significant victory for law enforcement in their efforts to combat drug trafficking in Kenya.
