Power Interruptions Scheduled for Today in Four Counties
Kenya Power has announced scheduled power outages in specific areas of four counties today, December 6, 2023. The interruptions are part of routine maintenance activities to enhance the power supply infrastructure.
Affected Areas and Times
- Nairobi Region:
Langata – 9 am to 5 pm Affected areas: T Mall, Moi Educational Centre, School of Blind, Deepwest, Kogo Flats, Wilson Airport, AMREF, Sunshine, Uchumi Hyper, Uhuru Gardens, Dam Est, Part of Deliverance, Breeze Est, Jonathan Ngeno, Uhuru Gardens Est, Samachji Houses, Willow 1 & 2, Uhuru Camp, Nairobi West Prison, Texas Cancer Centre, Part of Mbagathi Rd, Bible Society, Miller Est, Akiba Est, Akila Est, Funguo Est, Kwetu Hostel, Strathmore Univ, Parallel Four, Hamayun Est, and neighboring areas.
- North Rift Region:
Trans Nzoia County (Lessos, Maridadi) – 9 am to 3 pm Affected areas: Lessos, Maridadi, Kapsitwet, Kobos, Mile 11, Kwanza, Kolongolo, ADC Orchards & adjacent customers.
- South Nyanza Region:
Kisii County (Ogembo, Tabaka, Riosiri) – 9 am to 4 pm Affected areas: Ogembo Market, Nyabisiongoroi, Ikoba Market, and adjacent locations.
- Mount Kenya Region:
Nyeri County (Kiriaini, Kamune) – 9 am to 5 pm Affected areas: Gatugi Market, Kiriaini Town, Kamacharia, and various markets Gachatha, Kariguini – 9 am to 5 pm
- Laikipia County (Ichuga, Ngarariga):
9 am to 4 pm Affected areas: Ichuga, Tigers, Kwa Huku, Nalanya, and others.
Kenya Power Advises Customers
Kenya Power advises customers to prepare for the scheduled outages and take necessary precautions, such as charging electronic devices and storing perishable food items properly.
Customer Frustration
Some customers have expressed frustration with the regularity of power outages, particularly on Wednesdays. Kenya Power has acknowledged customer concerns and is working to improve its service delivery.
