Pst. Ezekiel describes how he almost lost his wife to a different man

Pastor Ezekiel Odero, founder of New Life Prayer Center and Church, criticized individuals who resort to begging, emphasizing that success does not imply an obligation to support others. The televangelist, counted among Kenya’s wealthy individuals, shared the challenges he faced during his early days in a sermon delivered at his New Life Church in Mavueni, Kilifi.

Responding to a congregant’s request for money, Pastor Ezekiel recounted the hardships he and his wife, Pastor Sarah, endured, highlighting moments when they struggled to afford even a modest 500 shilling note. He disclosed how they engaged in demanding menial jobs before gaining fame.

Pastor Ezekiel revealed that his wife had sold boiled maize combs at a construction site, recalling an incident when a man tried to woo her away with promises of a better future. Speaking of their struggles, he disclosed that his wife had also sold sun-dried fish while he worked in the same open-air market at a different stall.

Sharing their financial challenges, he narrated an experience where he invested 500 shillings in a small business venture, but it took a downturn, leaving him unable to sustain their businesses. Despite facing difficulties, he emphasized the importance of perseverance and hard work.

Pastor Ezekiel discouraged the congregation from relying on others for money, urging them to pursue self-reliance. He clarified that his advice was not driven by arrogance but was based on the path that worked for him, encouraging others to follow a similar work ethic.
