Rap veteran Bamzigi, laments his father’s passing

The esteemed artist Bamzigi, born Harrison Munio, is grappling with sorrow following the loss of his father, Dr. Charles Munio Kariba.

Bamzigi is the older brother of actor Lenana Kariba, who has previously spoken about their family’s ties to the music industry.

“Both Bamzigi and Kid Kay from The Kansoul are my older brothers… but unfortunately, the musical talent wasn’t passed down to me. I can’t carry a tune to save my life,” Lenana disclosed in an earlier interview.

Sharing the heartbreaking news on his Instagram page, Bamzigi posted a photo of his late father accompanied by a touching tribute.

“R.I.P. to the only man in my life that I loved more than myself and respected more than anyone. He was always there for me, my biggest supporter, inspiration, fan, teacher, friend, hero & most of all my ‘father’. To Dr. Charles Munio Kariba, loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle & friend,” expressed Bamzigi in his heartfelt message.

Bamzigi, renowned for hits like ‘The Bounce,’ has made a profound impact on the Kenyan music scene.

As for Bamzigi’s siblings – actor Lenana Kiriba and rapper Kid Kora – there has been no public statement regarding their father’s passing.
