Okombe’s former club Nakuru RFC had been raising money for the deceased’s family. The club targeted to raise 1 million before Okombe’s burial.

Girlfriend tried to kill him before

Okombe’s father Josephat Shitindo Okombe revealed that he advised his son to end relationship with his girlfriend after she attacked him in January.

Josephat says Maryanne Mumbi cut Okombe’s hand with a knife and caused an injury that kept him out of the national 15s team.

The second attack on November 4th would end Okombe’s life. Several rugby players traveled to Kakamega on Saturday November 18th to bury their slain colleague.
