Ephantus Safari, the ex-husband of Kenyan actress Kawira Mzizi, has opened up about the reasons behind his marriage failure. In an interview with Presenter Ali, Safari said that communication problems, financial difficulties, and infidelity all played a role in the breakdown of his relationship.
Safari said that he and his wife were not able to talk to each other openly and honestly about their problems, which led to resentment and anger. He also said that financial difficulties put a strain on their relationship, and that he admitted to being unfaithful to his wife.
Safari said that he is now remorseful for his actions and that he is committed to being a better man and father. He also said that he hopes to one day reunite with his wife.
“We met in 2013 at the time I had attended an event at St Andrews, NairobiI wanted an MC who would be related well with kids.
I loved how she was behaving behind the stage. After the show, we offered her a ride home. What made me attracted to her was when she refused to let us know about her house.
It made me feel like she was a woman with principles.
The next day I told my colleagues that I would make her the mother to my kids.
Maybe that was my first mistake, I did not say I wanted a wife.”
“After that, I started pursuing her, and at some point, we had our huge wedding.
We planned to stay for two years without kids.
It wasn’t easy because people assumed we couldn’t bear kids. We had our first pregnancy but it was a blighted ovum the doctor suggested a termination.
We later conceived triplets, one of them died at six months.
Challenges started after the babies went home because she requested her mum to come live with us.
In our culture, the mother-in-law should just visit instead of living with us.
We talked and agreed our mother-in-law would go back to her place and we would support her from there.”
“One day I came home from the gym and she and the kids were not at home.
She had prepared my clothes and even made me breakfast.
Our home had CCTV but on this day I could not access it, I thought there was no power.”
