Muthoni Drama Queen featured by Vogue Magazine, speaks about loving ‘Mayai Boilo’

Musician Muthoni Drama Queen has been featured by Vogue Magazine after being named among 16 phenomenal women picked by the magazine for representing the country in The Kenyan Cool Girl’s Guide to Nairobi.

MDQ, who has just released a new album called SHE and is currently touring Europe, shared about Nairobi in the article saying that Karen is a must visit because of it’s boutiques and restaurants.

She also told Vogue that boiled eggs, or “Mayai Boilo” as many know them, is another thing she loves about Nairobi.

“My favourite part of the city to go exploring is Karen. There are lots of boutiques, restaurants, galleries and artisanal spaces. My Nairobi guilty pleasure is the street food. Nothing beats a boiled egg with some spicy salsa after a night out” she shared.

Cool kids

Others who made it to the list include fashion stylist Annabel Onyango, fashion designer Katungulu Mwendwa, Rafiki producer and film maker Wanuri Kahiu and supermodel Ajuma.

Muthoni Drama Queen openly shares her frustration as Kenyan media rejects her while promoting album

Singer Muthoni Drama Queen is one frustrated lady after two media houses gave her a bunch of lame excuses on why her interviews to promote her new album “She” were canceled.

Muthoni has just released her album and she’s been on a promotion spree trying to get her merchandise to all corners by spreading the word on all platforms. She made a series of rants on Instagram after the interviews were canceled saying Kenyan media has always despised local artists.

Not forgetting to schedule international artists

The singer also went on to add that local media can never forget or blunder with international artists but easily do it with local guys.

“To be Kenyan and to deal with the media is extreme sports. This morning both our interviews are cancelled.

The 1st one the presenter dint bother to book us in. The second one the producers says me plus my assistant, publicist are too many people

Such ‘madharau’ for us. I bet they won’t ‘forget’ to schedule in Mr Eazi or Rick Ross or complain that they would move in with their respective teams. Such disregard for our time. Just people out here being mediocre and making this our problem.

Imagine they have cancelled when we are literally on the way. Like 5 minutes ago. Nonsense!”
