Migori Woman and her Two husbands arrested after uproar

A woman in Migori, together with two men she said are her husbands, have been arrested after residents complained and almost lynched one of them.

The woman, who lives in Chamgiwadu village in Rongo, Migori County was on Monday arrested following an uproar from a local resident that she was living with two husbands.

According to Hot 96, the area chief David Onyango said the woman has been living with the two men for the past two weeks before villagers raised their concerns demanding action from local leaders.

No crime

It all started when Maurine Atieno, who has been married to Robert Ochieng with whom they have sired two children, returned home with her partner called John Ochola and decided to stay with him together with the first husband.

According to the chief, the three insisted that they must stay together. Police say that the three were only arrested because locals wanted to lynch the second husband but they have not committed any crime. They were just taken into custody for protection.
