Switch TV presenter quits just months after getting the job

Nzula Makosi, who hosts Chat-spot on Switch TV, has quit barely a year after starting the job.

Taking to social media, Makosi said that she has resigned to focus on personal projects.

“So this week is my last on #ChatSpot. I have been trying to find the right words for this post for the past month but there’s no easy way to say this… It’s time for me to move on with other projects that need my undivided attention.

“Thank you for the love and support you’ve given me so far…. So now let’s make the best out of the remaining days”she said.

Project

Before joining Switch TV, she worked with Milele FM where she hosted Milele FM Drive Show alongside comedian Cleophas Awinja aka Otoyo. Nzula said that she had to leave because the project she’s working on will be very demanding.

“Thank you everyone for the kind words. I’m going through your comments and I’ll try respond to all but as I stated in the post I’m involved with somethings that are very time consuming and this break is inevitable” wrote Nzula Makosi.

Adding:

“I have decided to take up other challenges. Thank you for the love, support and encouragement. It’s not the end of the road for me it’s the beginning of a new CHAPTER. Thank you and God bless.”

Anikwa on Switch TV exposes cheating spouses

Anikwa is a reality TV show that airs on Switch TV, every Thursdays at 8pm. The show focuses on exposing cheating spouses in the hopes that the truth will make them want to do better.

Anikwa is a swahili word which simply means exposing. Anikwa in this case has more dramatic episodes, humor is also brought out which is a necessity for any entertainment. In this case the aim of the show is not well defined and thus a lot of questions; Like how do you expect to make a person better while in reality you are lowering their self-esteem? What will happen after the Anikwa night? Do the couples get to sort their issues?

Although the show aims at helping people be better, I feel like it has lost meaning in the entertainment industry. Why on earth do people want their reputation tainted in the name of exposing a cheating spouse? Is it only men who cheat in relationships? To me it appears like the show is more of drama than reality. Also, the show should show us what happens to the couple later after being busted since they have made the couples business our business.

cast on Anikwa

Looking at the production of the program, it has failed at some point. Through out the episodes aired by switch TV, there is no enough research on what really happened and if the people in question are actually dating. A lot needs to be brought on board else the show will still be hanging. The show has also focused on the young generation to bring out drama in the Anikwa show.

As the episodes continue I wonder if the Anikwa show has helped in taming the cheating menace. How has it helped people? When we look at things in Kenya, young people have resolved to taking away their lives in the name of a spouse cheating. If the case is helping who is the target audience for this show then?

Anikwa crew can do better than that. In my opinion I give the show a rating of 4/10. Even if people are exposed a million times for cheating, they will still cheat if they want.
