Babu Owino congratulates Nasa foot soldiers as they tear down landmarks associated with Uhuru Kenyatta (Photos)

Nasa supporters have left behind a trail of destruction as they make their way to Uhuru Park. Babu Owino says they did a really good job.

All roads lead to Uhuru Park as Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka are set to be sworn in as the people’s president and deputy president respectively.

Police who had earlier blocked Uhuru Park left allowing Nasa supporters to assemble at the park. Thousands of Nasa supporters are currently at Uhuru Park waiting for Raila and Kalonzo to turn up.

Hooliganism

Nasa supporters vandalized city landmarks as they made their way to Uhuru Park. Kenyatta Avenue/Uhuru Highway roundabout, which had the court of arms and banners congratulating Uhuru for re-election, has been vandalized.

Babu Owino congratulated Nasa foot soldiers for vandalizing the roundabout. See the photos below:

In pictures: Nasa supporters throng Uhuru Park for Raila Odinga swearing-in

Nasa supporters are assembling in Uhuru Park in their thousands. This after police officers left Uhuru Park to allow supporters to settle as they wait for the swearing-in to commence.

Police officers had earlier kept vigil and pronounced Uhuru Park as a no-go zone. There were fears of violent confrontation between Nasa supporters and the police but none of that has been witnessed.

Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka are expected to be sworn-in as the people’s president and deputy president respectively.

Uhuru’s government has termed the swearing-in event unconstitutional and vowed to go to any lengths to make sure it does not take place.

Media blackout

Citizen TV, NTV, Inooro TV have all been shut down on all free to air services ahead of Raila’s swearing-in. Communication Authority disconnected the TV stations’ transmission.

The media gag is thought to be deliberate move by the government to deny Nasa supporters throughout the country the opportunity to watch the live coverage.
