Three enigmatic guys who visited Kiptum prior to their demise were taken into custody

Three out of the four individuals who reportedly visited Kelvin Kiptum’s home three days before his death have been arrested. Detectives in Elgeyo Marakwet County are currently interrogating them to determine the purpose of their visit. The arrests took place on Wednesday, February 14, and the individuals were temporarily held at Kaptagat Police Station until 11 am.

Sub-county Commander Keiyo South, Abdullahi Dahir, confirmed the arrests, revealing that the trio was transferred to the County Criminal Investigations Officer in Elgeyo Marakwet for further questioning. Authorities are also conducting a manhunt for the remaining suspect, whose whereabouts are currently unknown.

The decision to pursue the four suspects was based on allegations made by Kelvin Kiptum’s father. The commander clarified that there were no prior reports or allegations before this incident. The three suspects were called in for questioning to provide details about their interaction with Kiptum’s father.

Authorities seized the vehicle used by the suspects to access the father’s house, and it is yet to be determined whether it will undergo processing for fingerprints and other potential evidence. Samson Cheruyoit, Kiptum’s father, positively identified the three suspects after their arrest.
