Toxic Kenyan woman charged with manipulating her baby daddy to beat up her husband

A woman is facing charges of assault and issuing death threats after allegedly beating up her husband and threatening to kill him before inviting her baby daddy to the house.

The woman, Grace Wanjiku, is jointly charged with her ‘ex-lover’, Gilbert Osolo Onono, of assaulting and occasioning actual bodily harm to her husband, Umberto Daniel.

They are accused of assaulting Daniel inside his house in Nairobi on September 10, 2023.

Wanjiku is also separately charged with threatening to kill Daniel after she allegedly uttered the words “I will kill somebody… don’t dare me” to him while holding a kitchen knife.

Onono was to be charged with issuing death threats to Daniel after allegedly threatening to shoot him, but he did not turn up in court and has been summoned.

Wanjiku is also charged with creating a disturbance in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace after allegedly causing chaos at Daniel’s house.

The incident reportedly began when Daniel asked Wanjiku where she was coming from after she returned home past midnight. He had been suspecting her of infidelity.

Police say Wanjiku turned violent and started throwing household items around and dismantling them before a scuffle ensued between her and Daniel.

She allegedly took a knife and started scratching walls while threatening to kill someone. She then packed her belongings and called Onono, who arrived in a few minutes and teamed up with Wanjiku in assaulting Daniel before issuing death threats.

The two suspects later left the scene together and Daniel proceeded to the police station to report the incident.

Police officers visited his home and recovered the knife that Wanjiku is said to have used to threaten her husband.

Wanjiku denied the charges before court. The investigating officer filed an application to oppose bail and bond terms for Wanjiku and Onono, claiming they are flight risks.

The officer said Onono was uncooperative during investigations and asked for Daniel’s car’s registration details, an indication that he is planning to trail him.

Wanjiku’s lawyer dismissed the application, saying it was lacking in merits and was merely based on apprehensions.

The magistrate remanded Wanjiku in custody until October 23 and ordered a social inquiry report to be done. She will wait while in custody at the Nairobi Women’s Prison.

The magistrate summoned Onono to appear in court on October 23, when he is expected to be charged.
