Viral escape the matrix MKU student suspended

Mount Kenya University student Onyango Tate has been suspended from the institution for allegedly inciting others to commit offences, despite the university claiming that his suspension is not related to a viral video in which he criticized the university’s exams and lecturers’ cars.

In the video, Tate questioned the relevance of the university’s exams to the real world and described the lecturers’ cars as “cheap.” He also advised students to “escape the matrix” and not to study hard, as it would not make them rich.

The university’s disciplinary committee found Tate guilty of inciting others to commit offences and suspended him for the September/December 2023 semester. He is expected to return to the university in January 2024.
