Kenyan Hip-Hop Superstar Bamboo Signs With Cedric Muhammad’s Hip-Hoppreneur ™ Brand Management

International Hip-Hop recording artist Bamboo and U.S.-based Brand Management firm CM Cap have reached agreement on a strategic marketing partnership guiding the career of the Kenyan superstar.

The creative and business relationship will focus on expanding Bamboo’s music career in the United States and supporting his emerging leadership profile in Africa. The two are working together under the Diaspora Music umbrella.

“Artists that come in 3-D – talent, charisma, and story – are rare. Not only does Bamboo have what it takes to be a once-in-a-generation artist, I also see leadership potential in him necessary to represent Causes, Communities and Companies. Lyrically, when you take into account all of his dimensions, I don’t think anyone can touch him. In 2010, Hip-Hop is an international phenomenon but the culture and industry – especially in the States –have yet to see a phenom with the ‘international flow.’ We don’t have to wait any longer. Bamboo is here. I’m honored to work with him in expanding his current base of support and in pursuing new creative directions and business opportunities. And I’m excited about advising him as he and I develop the Pan-African Street Movement dedicated to working with the poor, the youth and the entrepreneurs of the world. Bamboo is already a legend in Kenya and East Africa for good reason and in 2011 we’re looking to take over the world,” Cedric Muhammad said.

Simon Kimani aka Bamboo grew up in Inglewood California. In his teenage years he moved to Nairobi, Kenya where he developed his unusual multi-lingual lyrical skills and emerged as an artist on the local scene. Before long he obtained superstar status with Kenya Breweries, Coca-Cola Africa and Juicy Fruit Chewing Gum all calling upon Bamboo to promote their products, through use of his music and performance. Bamboo is a 2006 CHAT Award Winner for both Hip-Hop Song of the year and Best Video of the year. He is also the 2006 Kisima Award Winner for Best Hip-Hop artist. In 2008 Bamboo made tidal waves for his starring role (and legendary freestyle) in the award-winning film Documentary ‘Hiphopcolony’ (www.Hiphopcolony.com) produced by critically acclaimed filmmaker Michael Wanguhu.

“Cedric has his fingers on the pulse of the music industry and the world. He impressed me with his vision for Hip-Hop artists and by what he sees in me not only as a talent but also as a man. We’ve been creating a formula for success for months and I’ve asked him with his years of experience with Wu-Tang Clan; as an economist working with the African Union as a political strategist to Members of the U.S. Congress to execute it with me. I cannot wait to put out a hot new album in 2011 and be the change that everyone says the game needs. It’s Time so Let’s Get It!” Bamboo stated upon announcement.

Bamboo is currently working on his new album to be released in early 2011; the re-launch of his website home; and building the Pan-African Street Movement.
