Kidero Appoints Walter Mongare To The Nairobi County Council

Walter Mong’are is one of the pioneers of Kenya’s comedy scene. Together with Tony Njuguna and K.J, they formed Redykulas, Kenya’s first comic trio to inject professionalism into the art of being a comedian. But away from that, he has been in the headlines (atleast at Ghafla) for all the wrong reasons.

It all started with this story:

And ever since then, things have seemed to get steadily hairier for the comedian what with this information leaking:

But such is life. And as General Patton said, you do not judge a man by how high he is but by the way he manages to bounce back after he falls from grace -I paraphrase. Anyway, I came across some interesting news in the Monday Blues section of the Standard newspaper.

In it, I found information that Nyambane has been appointed by Dr Evans Kidero as Nairobi City County’s Communication Director, Governor’s Office. When they reached him for a comment, this is what he had to say,

“Yes, I am working for Kidero’s county and I am no longer in Kisii. I am back in the city and I am honoured to have been accorded such a platform to serve the people of Nairobi. The appointment came earlier in the year but I have been outside the country and that explains why only few people noticed,”
