Kidero Celebrates Rare Feat As Nairobi Joins London, Beijing And Other Major World Cities On Top 20 CMI List

The ‘Green City in the Sun’ as Nairobi is occasionally referred to, is making headlines globally with it’s achievements.

Nairobi has been listed among top 20 most successful cities globally, and its innovation, liveability and capacity to reinvent itself, is the reason why the ‘Green City in the Sun’ attracted the spotlight.

Nairobi was ranked 11th in a report released by City Momentum Index (CMI), an international organization which tracks the speed of change of a city’s economic base and its commercial real estate market.

English capital, London, topped the CMI list of the world’s most innovative cities for the second year in a row.

Nairobi Governor, Dr. Evans Kidero, rushed to the social media to celebrate following news that the capital city was ranked 11th on CMI report.

“I am proud of Nairobi’s continuing position as one of the continent’s major urban hubs. The city is now in its 53rd year as the capital of an Independent Kenya. Yet its importance stretches far beyond its role as an administrative or political centre.” Wrote Kidero.
