Leading Afro-Pop Singer Spotted in Rehab

In the past few weeks, an artiste whose light has been shining brightly was spotted in and out of various rehabilitation centres in the city. This took many people by surprise, most of whom know the artist as a disciplined, well composed lady and distinguished teetotaller.

Seeking to find some answers, we spoke to some of her friends who admitted to know nothing about these incidences. One of them confessed that Radi’s most magnanimous encounter with alcohol was several years back, when she was working in one of Nairobi’s popular restaurants.

After evading us for about a week, we finally caught up with the talented singer in Karen. We probed her for a while, after which she told us that it’s true she had been spotted in a rehab in Nairobi.

 

“Though I am not the one seeking rehabilitation,” she said while comfortably laughing it off and proceeded to add, “I am currently working on a project that will entail working with rehabilitation centres in Nairobi, and alcoholism is one of the key areas to be covered. I am hoping my music and some of the partners I seek to work with can shed some light on this scourge.”

“And yes, I am a teetotaller,” was the singer’s firm answer when we sought to find out whether she partakes of alcohol.
