“Ligi Soo” Female Rapper Embroiled in Multi-Million Tussle with Her Former Record Label. They Allegedly Demanded 10Million from Her

If you listened to/ watch the remix of Rabbit’s “Ligi Soo” then you should recognize super-hot young ‘femcee’ Petra Bockle (stage name is Petra).

In today’s Pulse, the 19 year old rapper and make-up artiste disclosed how she melodramatically fell out with her record label, Taurus Musik. According to Petra, she had been promised a house, car and chauffeur plus Ksh20,000 every month as part of the 5-year deal she entered into with the company.

She went on to say that as much as she was accorded the house, she ended up sharing with “some people she did not even know” something that prompted her to move back home. That, was the beginning of her woes as the song she allegedly recorded with a Nigerian artist never went past the studio walls. It’s at this point that she decided to terminate her contract with Taurus Musik through her lawyer.

Petra further asserts that Taurus Musik threatened to slap her with a Ksh10 million penalty for breach of contract if she continued to paint the company in bad picture. This is after she supposedly informed her fans through Facebook that she’d cut links with Taurus Musik.

But what does Taurus Musik have to say? According to a statement signed by Michelle Mahaga (Taurus Group Entertainment VP), the label expressed their disbelief in Petra’s assertions about Taurus Group.

Here’s their statement;

We are utterly shocked by Petra’s interview in the pulse dated March 21st, 2014. Petra’s allegations against Taurus Group are misguided and totally uncalled for.

First we would like to make it clear that Taurus Musik was the party that terminated the Record deal between itself and Petra. The email thread between Taurus Group and Ms. Bockle’s Lawyer and our notice of termination provide sufficient evidence to prove the same.

Right from the onset Petra was troublesome, petty and unreliable. Despite this we went on into giving her a five year deal because we believed in her talent and were willing to take risk in the Endeavour.

Ms. Bockle was signed officially signed on December 24th, 2013. We provided her with accommodation in a luxurious three bedroom apartment along Ngong Road, next to prestige plaza. She had one housemate but her room was en suite and fully furnished.

We paid a stylist Olive Gachara to transform the artist’s image, which she successfully did. We proceeded to pay for an amazing photo shoot at IQ studios. This is backed with sufficient evidence. We got her on a record with Parker, a Nigerian artist who is signed onto Nickie Minaj’s Record label. All this was achieved by mid January 2014. This shows the labels devotion to Petra as this accomplished this in under three weeks. The label delivered its contractual obligations.

Despite all the resources we invested in Petra she proved quite fleeting and inconsistent. Ms. Blockle alleged that she had been diagnosed with vulva cancer in an attempt to extort money from the Record Label. On deeper investigation we discovered the information she gave us was not correct and that she was with child. She did not inform the label on signing though she was aware. On January 20 2014, the Record Label came to the final decision to terminate the Contract and this was efficiently communicated to both Ms. Bockle and her Lawyer. This followed service of the termination notice to her.

The reasons we terminated were due to fundamental breach of the contract’s terms, lack of full disclosure of vital facts and the extortion that she tried to carry out on the Label.

Following this interview by Ms. Bockle where she has thwarted the company’s reputation we intend to have this issues remedied legally as we feel that we have sufficient course of action and are entitled to damages.

Well..
