While some like Ray C are bleaching their faces and forgetting the rest of their bodies, Lupitah is proving that Hollywood isn’t as closed minded as I thought about darkskinned Africans. I actually thought she wouldn’t win an Oscar but not only did she prove me wrong, she has gone on to become the toast of tinsel town with the likes of Jay Z toasting her to her jamming with the president of the US of A!

So it should come as no surprise that she has been jamming with Beyonce and Solange. Personally, my Pan-African leanings have me hoping for a renaissance of the black woman, a celebration of the black wom(b)man’s beauty but this is neither the place nor the time for such geopolitical debates and speeches nor for ideologies and philosophies.
