Maasai Elders Refuse To Perform Cleansing Ceremony For Delamere Family Even As Tom Cholmondeley Is Buried In An Invites Only Ceremony

African science is real! Delamere kin risk a permanent curse from Maasai elders if they fail to abide by a compensation agreement that had been struck earlier.

Tom Cholmondeley was buried last Friday at the family’ Soysambu ranch in Naivasha. Daily Nation reports that Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, Gilgil MP Mathenge Ndiritu and former Attorney General Charles Njonjo were in attendance.

Delamere kin had earlier struck a deal with Maasai elders to reverse a spell that was cast upon them when Tom Cholmondeley shot and killed Samson Ole Sisina, Kenya Wildlife Service Ranger, at his Soysambu ranch.

The terms of the agreement between the Delameres and Maasai elders included; 49 heads of Sahiwal cows, white and light red in color, for Ole Sisina’s family, a 27-acre parcel of land from their ranch and a five-bedroom house for the family, and payment of school fees for Ole Sisina’s 8 children upto the tertiary level.

Even though the Delameres had agreed to meet the terms and conditions demanded by the Maasai Council of elders, the latter has refused to reverse the spell until the former fully adheres to the compensation agreement.

The Maasai elders claim the curse cast upon Delamere family would affect them for generations if it is not reversed.
