Meet Kenyan Photographer Whose Wealth is Worth 100 Million

“We have so much potential and opportunities but people don’t see them.Don’t say there is no employment,if you look around you there is wealth surrounding you and if others have made it you too can make it.” says James Panaito of the famous Panaito Photography.

The soft-spoken IT consultant turned high fashion celebrity photographer is worth between 70-100 million in investments not turnover.

When he came to Nairobi to advance his studies he got a house in a slum area where he used to pay Ksh.1,500 monthly. While in Nairobi he had an idea for a business, so he asked his mum for to lend him Ksh.40,000 .He bought himself a computer and he decided to learn how to develop websites. His landlord (former best friend) says that he used to be glued to his computer the whole day learning how to develop websites.

The 29 year old’s biggest break though was when he got his first big deal from the government, he made Ksh.800,000 when he developed a website for the Ministry of Information then he  again developed for the Ministry of lands and also the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In 2008 he had hired a few people and that’s when he got an office and launched the Business Registry for Kenya. The project earned him a lot of money and that’s when he made his first Ksh.10 million.

He has continued to expand his business and also ventured into photography and film production. He has a studio called Snap Harvest.

Most of his investments revolve around photography, software development, real estate and production.
