Moi and Raila Odinga to meet ahead of 2017 general elections

Two political arch rivals who have enjoyed a bitter relationship and rarely see eye to eye are set to meet.
Former President, Daniel arap Moi is expected to meet Cord leader, Raila Odinga in a convention that could change the country’s political tide.
Hivisasa has reported that a meeting between the two leaders is expected to take place at far-flung Teso North sub county in Busia on Saturday.
in recent times , Kanu and ODM both attended the launch of National Super Alliance (NASA) at bomet last month, and hope to work together with other parties come 2017 and jointly kick Jubilee out of power.
The meeting has been planned to coincide with Mr Odinga’s tour of Busia County.
Odinga will begin his tour in Budalang’I, the home turf of former ODM Secretary General Ababu Namwamba, before flying to Funyula constituency the same day.
He is then expected to visit Teso South constituency before traveling to Teso North where he is set to meet with Arap Moi.
 
Among other leaders expected to attend the event, according to the statement from Busia County’s Communications Department are former President Mwai Kibaki, former Attorney General Charles, Njonjo former cabinet Minister, James Osogo and former Assistant Ministers Joseph Daniel Otiende and John Keen.
Busia Governor, Sospeter Ojaamong and former Uganda Prime Minister Dr Paul Etyang’ are also among leaders to attend the event.
 
The leaders will be attending a thanks giving ceremony for former Amagoro MP, Oduya Oprong’ who, for the last 22 years, has lived with a bullet lodged in his head after he was shot in 1994.
79 year old Oprong’ is among the surviving former MPs who occupied Kenya’s post-independence Parliament between 1963 and 1969.
The ceremony will be held at the Anglican Church of Kenya St Stephen’s Church Angurai.
