My Dad Beat My Mother Badly, Celebrated Kenyan Songstress Reveals

Very few people come out to speak about what they went through when they grew up as little children. However, when they do, they really open up.

This is the case with celebrated gospel singer Sarah Kiarie, famously known as Sarah K.

Speaking to True Love Magazine, Sarah K revealed how she grew up in a disjointed family. She narrates how her father used to barter her mother in their presence.

The award-winning songstress says that it was one of the worst experiences she had as she grew up. She couldn’t withstand. Her mother too couldn’t.

So one day she decided that enough is enough and opted to separate with her husband. They moved out, leaving their father in Loitoktok where they owned a big shop.

Her mother could rent a house for them somewhere and move to Gatanga in Central Kenya where. As the eldest sister, Sarah had to take care of her siblings, cook for them, feed them and do everything for them.

When they could not pay rent, she packed and travelled to Nairobi to look for their father. He had married another woman and moved with her to the capital.

He found him and all he could do was send them to Gatanga to be with their mother. The singer says that even though that happened to them, she has made peace with her father and they live happily
