Nancy Baraza, Anne Waiguru,Martha Karua,Gladys Shollei… Why I Believe Women Should Not Be Allowed To Be Powerful In Society. Or Allowed To Hold High Positions.

After her ignominious hounding out of office, for her recklessness at handling a small security matter at a ritzy public mall,Former Disgraced Deputy CJ Nancy Baraza came back on television to grant some sort of a mea culpa interview to Larry Madowo, attempting to,at the same time, own up to her past malfeasances and also absolve herself from most of the criticism she received and ‘wrongful accusations’.

She sat there, suddenly philosophical and all, trying to draw us to her plight, drive away the fact that she was rude and disorderly, cover up the fact that she trampled upon a poor young female gate man and even physically-and verbally – violated her.

Baraza didn’t seem an inch remorseful, even pointing out that the way she’d deal with Larry Madowo,an educated and cultured TV individual, with a decent salary and solid social standing,is probably not the way she would handle – or would have handled -her victim Kerubo,a lowly female soldier with a measly salary, few social connections and little or no social power.

My mother used to work in our of the biggest Agricultural Cooperates of the 1990’s and Nancy Baraza was then the Corporation’s lawyer. And immediately Nancy was relieved from her duties, for her violent nature and disrespectfulness , my mother,a retired woman who now runs a Church, told me of what a troublesome and arrogant Lawyer Nancy Baraza was in the 90’s. My mother,a woman I trust and take seriously, told me of what a bully Nancy Baraza was, what a cold, icy heart she had and what a monster she was to the company and those around her.

Don’t be fooled by the pity-patty interview she granted to Larry Madowo, skirting around her iniquities, shifting the blame and attempting to drag in the sexism card. Nancy Baraza has never been a humble woman with the manners to handle her subjects graciously and with kindness and surely, she deserved all of the severe punishments that were brought on her after she, even though she still denies it,shamelessly pinched the nose of a very lowly and piteous gate soldier. With no remorse at all.

Prior to Baraza’s interview,we were treated to yet another spectacle… That of Miss Anne Waiguru, the well-manicured,well-to-do equally Disgraced Devolution CS who was also hounded out of office in a dramatic crescendo that threatened to tear the Country apart. Throughout her turbulent tenure,Waiguru had the most controversial and polarizing run of any Cabinet Secretary.

Buoyed by the far-fetched rumor that she held a special place on the President’s heart,Waiguru almost became untouchable and quickly became one of the most powerful figures in the Jubilee administration. If not the MOST POWERFUL.

According to some of her workmates and juniors, who gave private interviews to news outlets,Waiguru almost became a demigod, feared and loathed in equal measures. Waiguru, the CS,became a monster,a terrifying figure and a horror to most of her colleagues who,it was revealed, she would shut down with the ruthlessness of an Egyptian Princess and the heartlessness of a Russian tsar.

Waiguru was said to ride roughshod over her colleagues, intimidating her way through to the top, making mincemeat of anyone who dared question her or stand up to her vaunted majesty.

Enter Gladys Boss Shollei who,it will be agreed unanimously, was a monster,a terrifying leviathan,a fire-breathing vampire and a destructive typhoon who entertained no nonsense, was drunk in power and fancied putting people – especially men-in their place.

Shollei’s dishonorable ouster from the Judiciary had little to do with her obvious malversations and much to do with her red-hot attitude, combativeness, dictatorial tendencies and tyrannical leadership.

And thus, when cornered and accused of quantifiable wrongdoings, these women, owning to the manner in which they run their offices, were faced with nothing but absolute resistance and an army that was more than ready to send them home.

Waiguru may have been innocent as pointed out by the recent EACC press release absolving her from any financial crimes but still, the people who dragooned her out if office must have done so not because she was necessarily corrupt but because she had become a cancer,a pain in the ass,a tyrannical lordy individual,a despot and a hard-headed mistress who was difficult to please,to work with or under and to coexist with.

Baraza’s ouster also had a lot to do with the nature, her imperious character and her attitude as a Boss than her Village Market transgressions.

And we all know what a brutal totalitarian Martha Karua was at the height of her political superstardom. A cold,blood-sucking sea monster. Some sort of a Kenyan Imelda Marcos.

There seems to be a pattern here… The stronger the woman, the higher her position in society, the plummer the job she holds, the more the titles she holds, the more she becomes a monster, the more she becomes dictatorial, the higher the chances of her feeling sweet, trampling over her juniors, abusing her power and even oppressing her fellow women and shutting them down.

Women,it has been proved in the past,as in the cases of Hillary Clinton,Nancy Pelosi, Grace Mugabe, Lucy Kibaki, Ranavalona 1,Catherine the Great, Cleopatra etc, tend to morph into ferocious beasts the moment they’re bestowed some huge titles, given some gargantuan responsibilities, elevated to great positions of power and made to preside over powerful institutions.

Powerful Kenyan women must understand that the reason they get a beating, the main reason they’re gleefully hounded out of office, the main reason Society loves to watch them fall to disgrace and tribulations is mainly because of their attitude, their nature, dictatorial character, lack of respect and general unlikability.

Women tend to get more drunk with power than men and therefore, more prone to abuse of power, disrespect for the lowly, despotic tendencies and general lack of public manners and humility.

These women must first learn to how remain grounded and committed to public service before they can be allowed to steer a powerful institution only to bring it down with their nastiness, raw bitterness, combativeness and abject disrespect of their juniors and mostly – their fellow women.

Until then, this species of human beings needs to NOT be elevated to high positions. Until then.

Kill me now!
