One of the Most Accomplished American R&B Singers Coming to Kenya

Anthony Hamilton will be in Kenya this week to perform on the 19th of October at the Carnivore grounds from 6.00 p.m.

Anthony Hamilton broke out in 2002 when he sang the hook on Nappy Roots’ “Po’ Folks”. He went on to become a certified star when he released what to this day is his most famous track, Charlene. But it is two other songs that have broken contemporary music records and cemented his place in R&B history.

Anthony Hamilton’s collabo with Jill Scott on So in Love saw the song spend 18 weeks in No. 1 on the Billboard Urban Adult Contemporary chart. A feat that had only been achieved by Maxwell before them. The run helped secure Jill Scott a No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200.

Another Anthony Hamilton track went on to become the most added single at Urban Adult Radio. Pray For Me, which was produced by R&B legend Babyface, was the second single of Hamilton’s fourth studio album, Back To Love. The song and the single went on to get Grammy nominations earlier this year.

The Tusker Lite Experience has previously invited legendary acts in the name of Joe Thomas, Johnny Gill, Donell Jones and Erykah Badu.

Regular tickets to the event will go for Kshs. 4,000 while the VIP tickets will go for Kshs. 7,500. All tickets will have to be bought in advance and are available at Nakumatt (Junction, Mega, Prestige, Village Market, Thika Road Mall), Carnivore, Capital FM offices, Dormans (Nairobi branches), Burtons and Mercury ABC.
