Speeding, overloading, overlapping, dropping and picking passengers in the middle of the road and ear-bursting music are some of the undesired things that define matatus in Kenya.

Over the past weekend, a matatu belonging to Ongata Line Sacco knocked a boda boda operator and killed him on the spot.

An irate mob set the matatu on fire after they discovered the driver of the matatu christened 007 a.k.a Bond was speeding to town when the accident happened.

The Saturday accident provided yet another reason why the government urgently needs to streamline public transport.
